Arsenal youngster, Nathan Tella, has described what a pleasure it is for him to be able to watch players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott up close in training.

The 16-year-old winger hailed the two forwards’ style of play and admitted that he tries to emulate them on the pitch.

“Training every day and being able to watch the first-team players close up,” he said

“I mainly play on the right wing now, using my pace and dribbling skills which are my best assets, but I look to improve all aspects of my game, all of the time. Because of the type of player I am, I try to learn from Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain especially.

“The way that Theo collects the ball on the run is something I am emulating in my game. I also watch and learn from the Ox, especially how he can make surging runs along the flank or cutting inside. Defenders do not know which way he is going to go.

“He has a lot for me to learn from.”

Allowing our younger players to train with and watch the senior squad is probably hugely helpful. The young players get to experience the work ethic of many of our older players, and understand what it takes to make it to the top at Arsenal.

Although there’s not a lot of information about the 16-year-old around, here he is playing for the Arsenal u18s against Chelsea.
