Despite potentially having to spend six months out due to sustaining a cruciate injury while playing for France, Arsenal are still reportedly interested in signing Nabil Fekir.

The French midfielder was rumoured to be on our radar and the player’s father even wanted the 22-year-old to sign for us this summer. However, the move never happened and Fekir remained at Lyon.

We’ve supposedly made contact with his representatives about bringing him to north London in January. However, the idea that we’d sign an injured player is laughable. I know we all joke about Arsenal’s injury problems, but signing someone with such a serious one with a dubious rehabilitation period would be unbelievably stupid.

Fekir is unlikely to move from Lyon any time soon. Even after his injury has healed, he’ll need to reach peak fitness again and we know from personal experience that this doesn’t just happen overnight. Maybe over the next few seasons if we’re really interested, we’ll return, but certainly not in January.
