Arsenal target Dani Ceballos has confirmed that he will not be leaving his current club, Real Betis, ‘for many years’.

The midfielder, who has already appeared twice for the La Liga team this season, isn’t in any hurry to go anywhere and has shrugged off rumours that he could be heading to the Premier League.

The 19-year-old featured in 35 matches, scoring five and assisting the same amount last season for Real Betis, and it appears the teenager is more than happy to continue developing in Spain.

“I want to continue at Betis and enjoy these fans for many years,” he said.

“That they trust me because I have never failed them. I have always given everything for this shirt and I only think about returning all of the affection that I have received from the Beticos.

“[Reports of a move to Arsenal or Liverpool] They are only rumours, what I want is to stay at Betis.”

Although we’ve apparently been linked with the lad and Wenger does love a midfielder, I get the feeling there are slightly more pressing issues at hand. It’s not exactly a position we need reinforcements in, despite us loaning out reserve players.

Whether we were interested or not is a moot point now anyway, because he’s staying loyal to his current club.

Well folks, that’s another one crossed off the list…
