Moussa Konate’s agent recently revealed that Arsenal were watching the striker and now reports are claiming that Chelsea have joined in the race to sign the 22-year-old.

The Senegalese youngster has scored 27 goals and made 11 assists in 44 appearances for Sion since he joined last season but it remains to be seen whether he could perform in a larger league.

Although both Arsenal and Chelsea are said to be interested, if we were to buy him, I doubt it’d be for our first team.

The soonest we could sign him would be January, by which time Danny Welbeck should be on his way back (all fingers and toes crossed). By then, Alexis, Giroud and Walcott should have all hit their stride and bringing another striker into the mix who’s relatively unproven wouldn’t help our team at all.

If we were going to sign a striker, I’m sure it would be an established name and not a youngster at this point.
