Wolves have confirmed that they have reached an agreement with Arsenal for young goalkeeper Emi Martinez.
The deal, which is expected to be formalised today, will be a season-long loan.
It seems a strange move, having already sent Wojciech Szczesny out on loan, leaving the Gunners with only two senior keepers and the hopes that they don’t pick up any injuries.
Of course, Martinez has previously discussed wanting playing time so it would seem that he is not prepared to play third-fiddle at the club this season.
The official Wolves Twitter account said:
Jackett has also confirmed that Wolves have a verbal agreement with @Arsenal for the loan of Emiliano Martínez. Hopefully completed today.

Martinez spent part of last season on loan at Rotherham where he was tipped to become a future Arsenal number one.
A loan with Wolves will certainly do wonders for his development and all here at Cannon Towers look forward to watching him turn out in the Championship. With former Gunner Benik Afobe will be on hand to help him settle in he should enjoy a productive time at Molineaux.
Wolves face Newport County on Tuesday night in the Capital One Cup.
