With Olivier Giroud up front and Santi Cazorla on the left for the majority of the game last week, Arsenal really could have done with the pace of Danny Welbeck.
The England forward missed the end of last season with what was said to be a minor injury, but still doesn’t seem to be any closer to returning to the side.

Welbeck is said to be progressing well and has been taking part in some form of training for over a week, but clearly isn’t close to making his return to action.
There is some more positive news on the injury front as Héctor Bellerín should be back for the weekend. The defender missed last Sunday’s loss to West Ham with a thigh strain but has since trained and appears to be fine.
At Colney. Wenger confirms Bellerin is available again, Welbeck still out but improving, Wilshere and Rosicky out.

Having Bellerín back at least is a boost, as Arsenal desperately need to recover from the loss on the opening weekend of the season. Hopefully by the time Welbeck returns we will all be feeling much better about the club’s position in the table.
