It was a tricky night for Hull City, who needed penalties to beat Accrington Stanley, but Chuba Akpom was on the scoresheet again for his new club.

The 19 year-old striker is on a season long loan from Arsenal and has now found the back of the net in his first two games for the club.

Akpom didn’t start for Hull on Tuesday night but came off the bench to score the opening goal in a game that eventually ended 2-2 after extra-time. The English forward hadn’t scored a goal in 26 professional appearances before the weekend but now has two in as many games. Maybe Hull just suits him.

Akpom took his goal coolly and then went on to convert his penalty in the shootout, which saw Hull prevail.

The loan move has started well, and we can only hope Akpom continues to impress. Isaac Hayden, also on loan from Arsenal, was an unused substitute for the Championship side after making his debut in their 2-0 win over Huddersfield at the weekend.
