Arsenal legend Ian Wright has questioned the mentality of Arsène Wenger’s current squad.

Speaking on BT Sport on Saturday, Wright said a poor mentality which doesn’t lend itself to winning is “ingrained” in the players after years of finishing either third or fourth in the league.

Not long ago (and exactly one Premier League fixture ago) Wright predicted that Arsenal will win the league but has now attacked the mentality of the team more than once since last weekend’s defeat to West Ham.

Arsenal play Crystal Palace on Sunday, another club where Wrighty is considered a legend, and the game offers a chance to hit back and prove there is a strong mentality in the side.

We’re just one game into the season, so I’m not entirely sure why people are panicking and writing the side off already.
