Arsenal has announced the team news ahead of our clash against West Ham on Sunday and there aren’t really any surprises.

Alexis Sanchez is back in training, while Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky continue to work toward their fitness.

“We have Welbeck on a progressive recovery and Rosicky on a progressive recovery,” Wenger said.

On Welbeck, he added, “He is not too far away, but he is not ready for Sunday.”

Although Wenger didn’t completely rule out Alexis potentially being involved in the London derby, it’s looking unlikely as he’s only just returned.

“Alexis is back in training but I don’t think he will be involved on Sunday, it is a bit early maybe,” the boss said. “We have to decide that at the end of the week, but I don’t think he will be involved.”

The Chilean’s return was delayed due to his late involvement in the Copa America 2015 tournament, which his national team won. It was therefore only fair that the 26-year-old had a proper break.

However, even then, the forward didn’t rest properly and continued training while on holiday.

“Alex without running around is not Alex, you know,” Wenger explained. “You can’t imagine him lying on the beach somewhere and not moving! He came back in good fitness shape so that is quite positive, but I am not surprised by that because I can’t imagine him lying around for four weeks and doing nothing. That wouldn’t be him.”

Welbeck is currently suffering from a knee injury, which was originally thought to just be a knock but, in typical Arsenal form, kept getting set back.

Rosicky is also suffering from a knee problem sustained while on duty for the Czech Republic national team.
