Rodney Marsh, of all people, is the latest person to confirm that Karim Benzema could be an Arsenal player next season.

According to the Metro, the former footballer apparently confirmed on American radio with Stewart Robson that Real Madrid have accepted a bid for the striker.

This transfer saga honestly keeps getting stranger and stranger.

Marsh later clarified via his Twitter account that he didn’t mean the deal was done but confirmed that a bid had been made and subsequently accepted.

The fee is reported to be around £48m – slightly more than the £45m we were supposedly willing to initially pay.

The claims come just days after Rafa Benitez implied Benzema would be staying at the La Liga team.

Who honestly knows what’s going on at this point?
