Brendan Rodgers spoke ahead of our match with Liverpool on Monday and revealed how they plan on beating us at our home ground.

Last time the Merseyside team came to the Emirates, we hammered them 4-1 in one of our best displays from last season. However, Rodgers believes this time it’ll be a different story and has a game plan set in place.

“The last 10 games Arsenal have lost at home, teams have only averaged 4 shots on target with 43% possession,” Rodgers said. “You don’t need to dominate the ball there, you just need to dominate the space.”

The last team to beat us at the Emirates was West Ham, who won 2-0 in our opening match of the season. The Hammers enjoyed 58% possession, which is unusual for the visiting team, but only had eight shots in total, four of which being on target. Out of these four they scored two and, despite our 22 shots in total on their goal, we didn’t score any.

Rodgers is right. As long as Liverpool can find the space and be clinical enough, they could theoretically beat us. It’s up to us to make sure that doesn’t happen.
