Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson could miss the match against us on Monday.
The midfielder is due to undergo a scan on his foot after aggravating a problem he’s had for a while. Not having him on the pitch could severely weaken the Merseyside team, which he made 54 appearances for last season.
It was originally suspected the injury could be a broken metatarsal, but the club are confident this isn’t the case, although it may still require rest.
Liverpool managed to scrape a 1-0 win against Bournemouth in their last fixture and, without their captain, aren’t likely to look too lively against us either.
Last time we faced them at home, we thumped them 4-1, with stunning goals from Hector Bellerin, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud. It was a real high point of the season because for once we weren’t the ones on a receiving end of a considerable drubbing.
Hopefully we can produce a similar result this time, with or without Henderson on the pitch.
