Former Arsenal winger, Sanchez Watt, has signed for Indian Super League team, Kerala Blasters.

The 24-year-old was with us for four years, featuring 29 times in total for our u21s. He had a number of loan spells at the likes of Southend, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday, Crawley Town and Colchester, before finally signing for the latter club on a permanent deal in 2013.

After two years, 55 appearances, 10 goals and 12 assists, the youngster has moved further afield in order to try his hand – or foot – at football in a new country. All the way to India, in fact.

Sometimes you hear stories of footballers who’ve left us and they haven’t done so well. Sometimes, due to the circumstance surrounding their departure, you feel no sympathy but mostly you just feel sympathy.

With this said, for all we know, Watts is ecstatic and can’t wait to begin the next chapter of his journey. I sincerely hope it’s the latter scenario and he really makes a name for himself while away.
