The rumour surrounding Chelsea target, Jose Callejon, seemed to have quietened down as quickly as it started but now it’s back.

In early July, we reported on the story that the Napoli winger could be on his way to Arsenal with the asking price supposedly around £17.9m.

Now, we’ve apparently made an offer to bring the 28-year-old to the Emirates, with the aim to play him on the wing with Theo Walcott, who’s just signed a new contract with us, playing down the centre. Although, I see this as unlikely, as Wenger seems to view Walcott as far more of a versatile player and will probably be still using him on the wing now he’s signed his new deal.

Callejon featured heavily for the Serie A team – 59 times last season, in fact, and therefore, it stands to reason that the Italian team would be asking for considerably more money for their player. It’d also be fair to say they wouldn’t be willing to let him go at all. However, everyone has their price.

Chelsea are also reported to have put in a bid for the winger, and I’m sure they’re willing to pay more than we are.
