Former Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby is in talks with West Brom manager Tony Pulis about a move to the Hawthorns.

That is according to the Birmingham Mail who, as local media, you would expect to have the inside track on  move like this.

The Frenchman joined Arsenal in January 2006 but was released by the club recently after a horrific spate of injuries saw him 180 appearances for the Arsenal first-team.

Diaby would be quite the coup for a club like West Brom, he is a midfielder revered by those who have worked closely with him. Arsenal players, and the manager, all say that his talent is unbelievable, only adding to the cruelness of the injuries.

West Brom seem to believe that they could manage Diaby carefully enough to make a deal worthwhile and, even if he only managed to play every other game, he would clearly be an incredible signing. The 29 year-old is currently without a club and surely there isn’t anyone in the game who wouldn’t like to see him make the most of his ability?

Wenger recently spoke about the huge talent of Diaby, comparing him to legendary Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira, and it would be fantastic to see someone give him a chance to prove his fitness and his worth.
