Wojciech Szczesny arrives in Rome to complete his loan deal.

On Friday Arsène Wenger confirmed talks and said a deal was close, now an official confirmation of th completion of the deal is the only thing missing.

Szczesny lost his place to David Ospina last season and, despite starring in the FA Cup Final win over Aston Villa in May, fell further down the pecking order at Arsenal with Petr Čech joining from Arsenal. Wenger has insisted that the Pole has a future Arsenal but feels he would be better served by a loan move this season.

Szczesny is 25 and will need an impressive season to salvage his Arsenal career. Čech is clearly ahead of him and, as well as Ospina, young Argentinian Emiliano Martinez continues to impress everyone at the club.

We wish Wojciech the best in Serie A and hope he returns to strengthen the Arsenal side next season.
