According to the press in the Netherlands, Yaya Sanogo has agreed a deal to join Ajax on a season long loan.

The lanky striker who has yet to master full control of his legs spent part of last season out on loan with Crystal Palace but injuries hampered his time there just as they had done while he was at Arsenal.

With a number of clubs said to be vying for his signature, De Telegraaf claim that he has opted for Ajax where he would, of course, be working with Dennis Bergkamp. Marc Overmars is also at the club in the role of director of football.

Ajax is also in Amsterdam in case you had forgotten or just aren’t very good at geography.

If he can stay fit the move would see him gain regular playing time as well as more Champions League experience which he obviously wouldn’t get from any possible Premier League move.

With just one goal in 11 appearances for Palace last season, a run of games would help him immensely as he looks to recover the form he showed prior to arriving at the Emirates on a free transfer.

Sanogo has reportedly already been out to the club and there would be no option-to-buy included in any deal.
