Mesut Ozil has spoken to Arsenal Player about the pre-season tour, which also happened to be his first time in Singapore.

Despite the long flight, the playmaker enjoyed his time in the country, mentioning the friendly people and warm weather as huge positives.

He also spoke about the bonds pre-season can create among the team. As well as training, taking a pre-season tour is primarily about making the team closer. A team that plays for each other is a strong one.

The German was also impressed with the level of support seen over there. I’ve mentioned before that it must be humbling, especially for the players who aren’t familiar with how big Arsenal is. It must also be extremely motivating to know that so many people are supporting you, not just in England but all around the world.

Ozil also reminisced about his first pre-season tour with Schalke and highlight the importance of it for the younger players on both a personal and professional level.

Due to injury, Ozil only featured in 32 games last season. If he can remain fit, he’ll surely play far more next.
