Arsenal star Mesut Özil is on the front page of Italian newspaper Tuttosport amid claims that he is wanted by Juventus.

Last season Juventus won the double in Italy, and reached the Champions League Final. However, star midfielders Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba have been linked with moves away from the club and the Italian newspaper say that – if that were to happen – Özil would be the replacement.

They believe Juventus would be able to capture Özil for €40M, which is below £30M right now.

Quite frankly, it’s all a bit hilarious. I know the Italian media go a bit bonkers during the transfer window, but this is beyond ridiculous. Arsenal signed Özil just two summers ago for over £10M more than the proposed fee Juventus would get him for.

The player has had a troublesome year but came off the back of an injury to play the best football of his Arsenal career so far. He was played out wide at some points, but proved his worth in the middle and has been moved back to his favoured position by Arsène Wenger.

Tuttosport go on to say that a deal will happen next summer if it doesn’t happen this year.

Well, it won’t. Arsenal have no intention of selling their best players. And Mesut ‘Ya Gunners Ya’ Özil seems more than happy at the club.
