At first this seems like a ridiculous question: could Ozil be leaving next season?

However, recent quotes emerging from the Turkish press regarding a potential move to Fenerbahce sound quite worrying. The playmaker, despite turning down the opportunity to move to the Turkish league now, has said he’s flattered and implied he could only have one more season with the Gunners. The quotes will probably come as a shock to many and are a little worrying.

The German said, “Everyone knows I’m Fenerbahce fan. This proposal has honored me. But my career I want to continue in the UK. At least I want to stay in one season than Arsenal. It will make me happy to wear the uniform that surely in the coming season.”

From what I can tell, it does seem as if he’s happy to remain at Arsenal and the ‘at least one more season’ line is more about being polite than anything else. I doubt, especially if we have a successful season, the midfielder will be looking for a move away.

He has a strong team around him that’s only getting stronger and the thought that he could leave relatively soon after arriving seems absurd.
