Everyone’s favourite free signing, Mathieu Flamini looks like he’s off again on his travels.
After returning to Arsenal for two years and appearing for us a total of 218 times during his career, it seems as though our feisty defensive midfielder is off to the French league.
Bastia, who finished 12th in Ligue 1 last season, would be able to grab the freshly released Flamini and wrangle him back to his homeland on a free, if they so desire. Although his wages are a different matter.
The 31-year-old has had a colourful time with the Reds and many had mixed reactions upon his return. However, after proving his loyalty to the Gunners (the second time round, anyway), he managed to slide tackle his way aggressively back into our hearts.
After picking up 37 yellow cards with us over the years, he’ll be glad to know there are also plenty to be dished out in France. I’m sure he’ll be very happy there.
