According to a report in Turkey, the new manager of Besiktas is looking at pairing Joel Campbell and Robin van Persie next season.

Senol Gunes has recently been appointed by Besiktas and one of his first challenges will be to replace the 27 goals scored by Demba Ba last season as he has already left the club.

The Turkish side have already confirmed that they will make a move for former Gunner Robin van Persie and Joel Campbell could be next on their list.

The Costa Rican is capable of playing on either wing as well as up front and thrived in a league of a slightly lesser standard when he was on loan at Olympiakos. His brief performances in England showed that he had very little to offer an Arsenal side already brimming with attacking talent.

In January the forward was loaned out to Villarreal but again a big league seemed too much for him, managing just one goal in his 16 starts for the La Liga side.

His reputation still seems to be in tact from Olympiakos and a promising World Cup campaign last summer and Arsenal shouldn’t be too short on offers as they look to offload the 23 year-old forward.
