In one of Arsenal Player’s videos released after signing Petr Cech, the former Chelsea keeper had his say on his new teammates.

Speaking honestly, the 33-year-old declared that there wasn’t just one player he was looking forward to teaming up with because every player is important, and although he is excited to get started, he couldn’t single out just one person.

The Czech international went on to highlight that you start the season as a team and end it as a team, and that’s what success comes down to.

Team cohesion off the pitch, as well as on it, has been an issue highlighted by a couple of our players before. Forming good relationships and bonds isn’t a waste of time – it garners trust and comradery. You’re no longer playing just for the manager or the fans – or even the shirt – you’re playing or each other.

Friendship within the team can be an effective weapon.
