After signing Dan Crowley from Aston Villa in 2013, the 17-year-old has gone on to impress so much that Birmingham City now want him on loan.
The attacking midfielder, who appeared 20 times for our under-21 team last season, has climbed up the ranks at Arsenal and even been selected for the England u17s.
The playmaker has been compared consistently to Jack Wilshere, which can only be seen as a good thing.
Loaning the youngster out would be excellent as he’s not getting huge amounts of playing time for our reserves but is obviously skilled enough to handle the intensity at that level. Therefore, going to a less competitive team where he can gain experience and stretch his legs would be fantastic for his development.
Arsene Wenger will want to nurture and hone his talents so I have no doubt the boss will be keeping an eye on him while he’s away – if a loan move is chosen as the next step, that is.
