It’s all fun and games until someone’s mother gets involved, and that’s precisely what’s happened with Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, Adrien Rabiot.
The 20-year-old has only featured in 76 matches for PSG since signing for the Ligue 1 club in 2012 and this is what his mum says is the deciding factor in his choice.
“Adrien wants to have a career at PSG,” Veronique Rabiot allegedly said. “But it’s not possible. Are PSG trying to tarnish Adrien because we have asked for a transfer?
“If Adrien leaves PSG, he is not leaving for the sake of leaving, he is leaving in order to play.”
Although we’ve reportedly been interested in the player for a while, rumours linking us during this window have been on the quiet side and it seems like an unlikely signing. Of course, he’s young French and an attacking midfielder, but the report itself doesn’t really give much substance behind the claims, other than the fact we’ve been linked to him before.
The midfielder is inexperienced, only playing for Toulouse before PSG, and only making 13 appearances there. He’s also only played four times for the French u21 squad. Therefore, as much as I’m sure we have monitored him, I don’t see an actual deal going ahead.
