Spanish football journalist, Kike Marin, has heavily implied that Arsenal youngster, Jon Toral, will be signing a new contract with Arsenal – something we reported on back in February… and April.

We signed the attacking midfielder three years after Hector Bellerin, who Toral describes as his ‘footballing brother‘ and last season put him out on loan to Championship side, Brentford.

Despite what many would envisage as a step down in his career, the player was open about the fact he loved playing there. He was playing regularly and featured 37 times for the London side – pretty impressive for a 20-year-old who’s just walked into the team. He also scored six goals.

Toral’s had his short career so far marred by injuries and just to be playing is a huge bonus for him.

His successful time at Brentford, who finished fifth in the Championship last season, didn’t go unnoticed and it appears, as if we didn’t already know, we’re definitely offering him a new contract.

Spanish journalist, Kike Marin, implied via Twitter that the midfielder could well be signing another contract with Arsenal soon, saying:

Not exactly new news, but further confirmation nonetheless.
