You may – or may not – have heard that Sol Campbell has decided to run for Mayor of London.

The former Arsenal and England defender seems to have been toying with the idea for a while but now he’s apparently well on his way in the application process.

On Monday, David Hughes from the Press Association tweeted Big Sol:

@SolManOfficial Hello Sol, David from Press Association here. Have you put in your application to be the Tory mayoral candidate?

To which Big Sol replied:

@DavidHughesPA Hello David, Everything done and signed off.

Campbell appears to want to replace Boris Johnson as Tory Mayor of London and although he’s not currently favourite to win the position, it would certainly be an interesting appointment.
