Damian Martinez looked happy to be back in training, despite his future at the club being unsure.
After the signing of Petr Cech and uncertainty over David Ospina’s future at the club, it’s unknown at this point whether Martinez will still be a Gunner at the start of the new season. However, the 22-year-old was at London Colney today and seemed pleased to be there.
Martinez has appeared 33 times for the Arsenal under-21s since joining in 2011, which isn’t a huge amount but this is due to the youngster being out on loan every season since 2012. Firstly, he had a season with Oxford United, then Sheffield Wednesday, and finally Rotherham United.
With Ospina possibly leaving, he could be looking at a more solid role in the squad in the new season.
