Despite there being no real substance behind the story, apparently, we’ve inquired about Roma centre-back Konstantinos Manolas – or Kostas to his pals.

According to reports, we’ve asked his agent, Mino Raiola, for information on the player. Although we don’t appear to immediately be in the market for a centre-back, he’s not hugely out of our price range and objectively, the transfer isn’t too outlandish. However, with Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny working well together, as well as Gabriel for backup, there’s no immediate need to spend.

Manolas appeared for Roma 41 times last season and the vast majority of these matches he played the full 90 minutes. Reports are even describing him as their ‘prized possession‘ and implying that Roma won’t let him go without a fight.

Although it doesn’t seem like a huge story, it might be one to keep an eye on if the whispers are coming from their camp.
