According to reports, Arsenal are entering talks with Napoli over bringing the winger, Jose Callejon, to the Emirates.

The 28-year-old is thought to want a move away from the Serie A team and the asking price is a reported £17.9m, which objectively may sound high but when you consider how much Raheem Sterling is going for, it seems like small change. With Serge Gnabry potentially about to go out on loan to West Bromwich Albion, could we be looking at other wingers to slot into the squad?

Although most people didn’t think we needed another winger at the start of the transfer window, now we’ve sold Lukas Podolski and Gnabry could be out on loan, it frees up a bit of space. Especially if we’re struck by injuries again. It also allows room for Mesut Ozil to move centrally, if that’s what he and the boss want.

The winger scored 12 goals and assisted seven in 59 appearances for Napoli last season. So although his goal:game ratio isn’t as high as someone like Theo Walcott (seven goals in 22 appearances), he seems like a useful squad member who wouldn’t blow our whole budget.
