Per Mertesacker and Nacho Monreal returned to training on Tuesday and both seem happy to be back.
The defenders both tweeted after their first training session back in what seemed like one of the shortest breaks in history.

Our stand-in Captain had a great 2014/15 season, appearing 48 times in all competitions and walking our FA Cup winning team out onto the Wembley pitch with pride.

The left-back had a fantastic second half to last season after Kieran Gibbs’ injury allowed him a consistent place in the starting 11. I’m sure he’ll be training hard to retrain his position. Although I’m not 100% sure what the emoji of a ram is supposed to symbolise…
