Arsenal have been linked with a number of midfielders throughout the summer, with one of the lesser known names being Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Genk.

The Serbian played 24 league games in his first season for the Belgian side and, at the age of just 20, is attracting interest from a number of clubs in Europe. As well as the Gunners clubs like Manchester United and Lazio have been linked with the player, who is represented  by former Chelsea striker Mateja Kezman.

“Offers have come from various clubs, many have shown interest in him,” Kezman has been quoted as saying.

The central midfielder has – no doubt thanks to his nationality – been dubbed the ‘new Nemanja Matić’. He is clearly a signing Arsenal fans would love if that has any weight to it.

“Genk is aware that there have already been several meetings. The player and his family will decide the future together.”

Playing in the middle of the park, Milinković-Savić has won two caps for the Serbian u21 national team but not the senior side. If Arsenal do make a serious move for the player he shouldn’t cost an extortionate amount, and would have a good chance of fairly regular footballer already.
