The first Arsenal player to score at the World Cup in Canada is Spaniard Vicky Losada.

Losada, who only signed for Arsenal this season, scored Spain’s only goal in their 1-1 draw with Costa Rica.

Speaking after the game, Losada said about dropping two points “We leave with a bittersweet taste.”

Losada, 24, enjoyed a productive game in midfield and came in for heavy praise from the media in her homeland for her performance.

It is the first World Cup for both Spain and Costa Rica and Losada’s side face a tough game against Brazil in the next set of fixtures.
