On 23rd June, we brought you the news that Arsenal were thinking of buying a second Chelsea man, this time a midfielder by the name of Charly Musonda, and now he’s refused to deny claims he could be Arsenal-bound.

Scandalous!

Speaking recently about the Arsenal links, the 18-year-old said, “I’m also well aware of the news, nothing has been done yet. I will reflect personally with my family and agent and come to a conclusion that hopefully benefits the continuity of my progression.

“I’m looking forward to playing football next year.”

As we previously reported, he was originally open to the idea of a loan move away from the Blues, but it’s impossible to think that we’d take a Chelsea youngster, develop him and then give him back. That being said, Arsenal are reportedly interested in buying him, however, would Chelsea sell a player to the Gunners dubbed one of the best of his generation? Unlikely.

Insinuating that we’re interested in him is possibly a move to scare Chelsea into giving him more playing time, or forcing anyone who is actually interested in him into making a move. By saying a club like Arsenal want him, he automatically makes himself more valuable and sought-after.

Then again, he’s young and an attacking midfielder and we all know that’s like crack to Arsene Wenger.
