After supposedly keeping an eye on him for a while, it’s emerged that Arsenal could be in the lead to sign FC Midtjylland’s Pione Sisto.

Back in May, we reported that we were in competition with the likes of Barcelona and Juventus to get the Danish 20-year-old’s signature. However, the Italian press are now claiming that the other teams are behind Arsenal in the race to sign the talented midfielder.

Apparently we’ve been watching him while he’s away with the national Denmark u21 team and he’s been impressing. He also recently won the award for Player of the Season in the Danish league after scoring eight goals in 22 appearances in the Superligaen.

I’ve no doubt he’s a fantastic prospect. However, this all sounds like agent talk and attempt to drum up interest in the player if you ask me.

I don’t see us signing another winger, not while we have bigger fish to fry and more important areas to strengthen in. At least certainly in our first team, anyway.

He’s still young though, so it might be worth keeping an eye out for the future.
