While away on national duty for Chile, it’s being reported that Alexis Sanchez has been doing more than just playing football.

According to reports, the forward has been trying to convince his teammate, Arturo Vidal, to join the Gunners this summer.

As nice as this is of the Chilean, if true, a lot more goes into a transfer than simply convincing the other person they should come over, as if it’s a mini-break. ‘Yeah, come and try out our training facilities, they’re very good. Try the chicken and broccoli in the canteen – it’s top notch.’

We’ve already been over why we don’t believe the transfer is happening – we’ve been linked with the midfielder since the beginning of the transfer window – and the apparent £21.3m price tag doesn’t help matters.

Perhaps – and this is a big perhaps – if the Morgan Schneiderlin deal doesn’t happen, then maybe we’ll look at other options but even then, I’m not entirely sure the Juventus player would be the first one.
