The defeat against Swansea City on Monday night is bound to play on the players’ minds and they’ll surely be gagging to put it right with a win against Manchester United next weekend.

Jack Wilshere says the Gunners are hungry for a win against United but the players also need to be wary and realise that just because we’ve beaten them before, doesn’t mean we can do again without a fight.

Speaking post-Swansea to the media, the midfielder said, “We’ve been there in the FA Cup this season and won, so we know what it takes. Our confidence will be high going there but we’ve got to perform. It’s no good just going there thinking that we can beat them again because we’ve beaten them before. We’ve got to put in a performance, work hard and earn the right to win.”

Last time we played Man United was, as Wilshere mentioned, in the FA Cup at Old Trafford where we beat then 2-1 with a second goal from ex-Manchester United forward, Danny Welbeck.

Earlier this season, however, they came to the Emirates and beat us 2-1. They’re the only team other than Swansea to beat us in the Premier League at home this season.

Hopefully Monday’s freak result doesn’t put too much of a dampener on our confidence and we come out fighting.
