Arsenal have enjoyed their best season for a while in terms of league position, with finishing second and winning the FA Cup looking like a real possibility.
Arsene Wenger took a moment to reflect on our season so far during his presser ahead of Hull City and overall, he’s feeling it’s not been bad at all, despite not having the most consistent season from start to finish.
“I look at it in a positive way,” he said, “because what you want from a team is to show during the season that you can grow together and become better.”
He continued, “We faced a big challenge because Chelsea didn’t drop their level in the title race, and they were more consistent from the start until the end, and that’s why we didn’t catch them up. Overall we feel we have made progress.”
Manchester City currently hold second place on goal difference alone, while we have a game in hand, giving us the opportunity to grab second for ourselves.
Although we won’t catch Chelsea this season, everything’s in place for us to genuinely challenge next season.
With the amount of injuries we’ve had, the fact we’ve even climbed this high is impressive. Therefore, a couple of additions here and there and a fully fit squad is more than capable of taking on the league in the 2015/16 season.
