Arsene Wenger can be forgiven if he felt a bit smug after his side’s 4-1 win over the former leader of the Orcs and his new band of merry men.

Banging in all four before they’d even had their halftime oranges, the Gunners put the game to rest with some exceptional finishing making up for their distinct lack of firepower in recent games.

Driven forward by Theo Walcott and Jack Wilshere who are showing the depth of Arsenal’s squad now that almost everyone is fit, Arsenal sealed third place with five points to spare from United.

Speaking after the game, the boss was visibly pleased.

“The first half was absolutely technically exceptional, the finishing was top quality,” Le Prof said.

“Every shot we took went in (no it didn’t, Arsene, you naughty boy) and recently our finishing was not so great so it compensated a little bit but I felt the first half was top quality.

“Second half we eased off but we still created some chances.”
