Theo Walcott demolished West Brom at the Emirates on Sunday and the forward is showing just what a patient approach to rehab can bring you.

Looking rusty on previous occasions when thrown into the side we saw glimpses of him being back to his best against Sunderland on Wednesday but nothing could have prepared us for what we saw in the final league game of the season.

Scoring three before halftime, he could have quite easily had double that and created as many as well as he simply ran riot around Tony Pulis’s West Brom.

Speaking to the media after the game he was clearly happy with his performance and even spoke about a title challenge next season – the strongest sign yet that he won’t be going anywhere.

“It’s nice to be playing.

“I’ve been very patient when given the opportunity, especially the last few weeks I’ve been sort of ready and very positive and it’s worked for me today.

“It’s nice to have a run upfront as well and to grab the matchball is great achievement personally but the most important thing is the team is looking sharp going into next week’s final.

“You need to be patient with yourself when you’ve been out for a year it’s always going to take a similiar amount of time to come back.

“The manager has been patient, I’ve been patient with myself and when given the opportunity I’ve been trying to take it and today it’s just gone for me.

“I’ve been working really hard like any other player. The manager has an absolute headache to pick his best team but it just shows our squad is fantastic as well and it’s a squad that should be challenging for the Premier League, I’m positive next year.”

Hear what else he had to say in the video below, I was going to transcribe it all but Theo speaks faster than he runs:
