The greatest striker that ever lived?

Almost, Nik. Almost.

According to figures released by IFFHS, Nicklas Bendtner has been named as one of the top 11 goalscorers in world football for 2015.

Yes, you read this right and it’s not a joke.

In the list which was released by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics, his five goals for club (2) and country (3) sees him placed at number 11 on the list with Gervinho coming in at number 21 with four, two for both club and country.

The complete list contains 42 players who have all scored four or more goals, with just six Europeans making the cut – Romelu Lukaku (7), Riste Naumov (6), Nicklas Bendtner (5), Thomas Muller (4), Joa Moreira (4), and Juan Belencoso (4).

Lukaku is the only representative from the greatest league in the World.

Since signing for Wolfsburg, Bendtner, who is now 27, has found the net five times in total, with four of those coming in the Europa League.

With just one league goal in 18 appearances, it would seem that regardless of the fact that he’s hit a purple patch this year, he still some distance to go to fulfil his lifelong ambition.
