Prince Harry, who has just begun a tour of New Zealand, stopped for a chat with some local children and revealed what football team he supports.
Hint: it’s not Reading (get it?).
To many, the fact that most of the Royal Family, particularly Prince Harry, are Arsenal fans has become somewhat of a Gooner myth. Everyone knows it and loves to bring it up down the pub, but no one really knew if it was actually true.
Apparently, according to the Daily Mail, when Cesc Fabregas met the Queen in 2007, she revealed that she was in fact an Arsenal fan.
“It seems the Queen follows football and she told us she was an Arsenal fan. She appeared to definitely know who I was and we exchanged a few special words,” the former Arsenal midfielder said.
Well, now we can reveal it is in fact true.
When speaking with the local kids at the New Zealand Government House in Wellington about sports, the Prince revealed, “Most of the royal family are Arsenal fans”
Unfortunately, however, the future King, Prince William, is an Aston Villa fan and plans on bringing Prince George up the same way (via the Mirror).
You can’t win them all, eh Arsene?
