After nine years of loyal service, it looks like our midfield maestro, Tomas Rosicky might well be off to his first club.

Rosicky has made no secret of the fact he was looking for a move away from the Emirates in January. His lack of paying time, despite being a super-sub, was confusing him and he, understandably, at the age of 34, wasn’t happy warming the bench.

It seems that if quotes from Czech team, Sparta Prague’s owner are anything to go by, it looks almost certain our own little Czech is on his way back to his home country and original team.

Speaking recently, Daniel Kretinsky said, “It is not a secret that my big wish is his comeback to Sparta. The only question is when.”

He added, “We would like to get Tomas back to Sparta and we believe that we will be successful. The question is when it would happen and that depends on him. Our interest is solid and long-term.”

The owner seems confident that they’ll get their man and, considering Rosicky’s comments about almost leaving, it seems likely that he’s on his way out. The report in the Daily Star also seems to heavily imply contact has already been made and potentially a deal already struck.

What’s that? Oh that’s that sound of millions of Gooner hearts breaking.
