With Juventus looking to bring in new striker Paulo Dybala, their other striker could be up for grabs.

It’s been at least five minutes since we’ve been linked with Fernando Llorente so it was only a matter of time before we were again.

Llorente

In a report from the Guardian, the Spanish striker looks as if he could be nudged out of the squad by the potential new €30m signing of Palermo’s Paulo Dybala – a striker Arsenal have also supposedly been interested in.

By the nature of transfer rumours, this means we’re automatically linked with Llorente, a player we’ve been linked with for a number of seasons.

There are a few reasons why I don’t see this happening. Firstly, we’re probably only being linked with him because Juventus may be buying a new forward.

Secondly, Olivier Giroud is our first choice striker and the two players are quite similar both in stature and playing style. I find it hugely unlikely that Arsene Wenger would want two similar strikers on the team.

Thirdly, would the 30-year-old be happy sitting on the bench for the majority of the time? Doubtful.

All very unlikely and simply circumstantial.
