Statistics don’t lie, right?

Well, maybe they do sometimes, but for the purposes of this post which sees four Arsenal players make the team of the season, the same number as Champions Chelsea, let’s pretend they don’t.

Unlike what many of the other papers and websites would have you believe, Gary Cahill wasn’t one of the best centrebacks in the league this season, nor was John Terry – but Laurent Koscielny was according to the Guardian and their stat-based TOTS.

The Frenchman was joined in the team by Nacho Monreal, Santi Cazorla and Alexis Sanchez and it’s hard to argue with the inclusion of any of them.
