Could Arsenal be about to buy another leftback in order to strengthen our defence further this summer?

A report from Le10 (via Sport Witness) is claiming that Arsenal have set their sights on French leftback, Layvin Kurzawa. The 22-year-old has featured 32 times for Monaco this season, grabbing himself three assists in the process (via WhoScored), and is apparently keen to join the Gunners in the summer.

According to the report, we originally made contact with Monaco regarding the defender in November and planned to sign him in January, but the French team wouldn’t sell at the time.

Now, the player himself seems to be pushing for a move to Arsenal and Monaco are willing to listen to offers. Apparently the player could move for as much as €20m.

As Sport Witness points out, we have plenty of leftbacks and I don’t see us paying that amount of money for another so this could very well be just agent talk. Manchester United are also supposedly interested, despite not needing him either, which indicates the player could just want a move away from France and his agent is drumming up some attention.
