Jack Wilshere will return to the Arsenal squad for the FA Cup semi-final against Reading.
The midfielder, who has been out of action since he was McNair’d against Manchester United in November, captained the u21’s on Monday night as they lost to Reading, but having proven his fitness, will now return to the senior side.
Wenger wouldn’t confirm if the midfielder was likely to start against the Royals at Wembley, but his return is certainly good news.
“He has improved physically,” said Wenger. “You want me to say yes or no will he start but I honestly haven’t decided. He is fit enough to be in the squad and he will be in the squad.”
Mikel Arteta will not be included after suffering a setback when he appeared for the u21’s against Stoke, however the problem will not keep him out for longer than another seven days.
“He has a little ankle inflammation when he moved out of the last game against Stoke, in the reserves, and since he has not been back in the squad but he should be back next week,” Wenger added
