After holding off Arsenal this weekend with a goalless draw, Chelsea maintain a 10 point lead at the top of the Premier League table and Arsene Wenger predicts they’ve now done enough to win it.

In the boss’s presser after the game, he spoke about Chelsea’s title challenge and whether Arsenal could catch them.

Speaking about whether the Blues will be crowned champions, he said, “They are not champions yet but they will be, and you get what you deserve.”

Wenger also mentioned the difference in teams and why Chelsea not only prevented us from scoring, but are leading the league by a healthy margin.

“They started the season strong and they made the difference in the first half of the season compared to us.”

“We have closed it since the start of the season,” he continued. “What happened is that they had the experience at the back, they could close the game down. We lacked freedom of mind today. Maybe we were too conscious of their counter-attacking and didn’t play with enough freedom in the final third.”

“We made some wrong decisions,” he added finally.

Although the league isn’t in our hands now, there has been somewhat of a shift. Instead of celebrating the gaining of a point, many Arsenal fans are lamenting the loss of two – a very different situation to previous seasons.

The feeling that we could and should have won is a step in the right direction and next season, we’re sure to be challenging competitively for the title.
