Although a top four finish is looking likely for the Gunners this season, mathematically we’re not safe yet, and Arsene Wenger is careful to point this out.

Arsenal play away to Hull City next week and, with fifth place Liverpool sitting seven points beneath Manchester United in fourth, it’s looking increasingly likely that we’ve secured Champion’s League football again next season.

However, the Premier League is unpredictable and with second and fourth spot only separated by two points, there’s still everything to play for.

“We want to finish this season well and when you look at the other results – I watched Aston Villa against Manchester City, and today Manchester United – every game is difficult,” the Arsenal manager said post-Chelsea on Sunday.

Once again, the boss reiterated the team’s need to focus in order to see out our remaining fixtures successfully.

“We need to absolutely keep focused until the end of the game, and then we can see what we can do next season. Let’s finish well. We have a strong end now.”

When speaking about our aims, Wenger has targeted the FA Cup final as the latest we should’ve secured our top four place.

“We go to Hull and then we want to secure top four before the FA Cup final because that battle is not done yet.”

However, he was also intent on mentioning that top four isn’t our only goal this season and, if we can, he’d like to climb higher.

“After that, we can look at the top three or the top two. It’s all to do now.”
