Arsenal have extended the contract of Jon Toral, the midfielder who arrived at the club at the same time as Hector Bellerin from Barcelona.

Enjoying a great loan spell with Brentford this season, Toral was out of contract in the summer but was hopeful that Arsenal would take up the option to extend his deal, something they have now done.

Overcoming genetic problems which caused him to suffer from a lax meniscus in both knees, the youngster is highly regarded despite his injury problems which he certain he has overcome after a number of operations. According to his Brentford manager, is ready for the step-up to the Premier League.

Toral has been injury-free with his knees for over a year now.

Will he get his chance at Arsenal next season? That is unclear, but one thing is for sure, the 20-year-old will certainly be a Gunner.
